Cheap Vs. Healthy

Cheap Vs. Healthy

Nowadays we feel this is an ever pressing concern in the world, the choice between cheap and healthy food. One could be lead to believe a lot more of a trend is kicking in that makes the two mutually exclusive. With the amount of cheap fast food out there, whether it be McDonald's or some instant ramen, its becoming to easy to be unhealthy in our diets. A student and a broke single parent relish these food options due to their ease and pricing.

The cost cutting procedures of these food companies is terrible for the nuritional value of our food. Takeaway and general cheap chicken breast seems to be so packed with water these days that their seems to be nothing else to the meat. We wont even touch on how most 'fresh' orange juice is actually made to taste the way it does, if you want a sobering look at the food industry, suggest you take a look at Cracked.com's video on food companies lies.

Now the monitor can already hear those of you already shouting that fresh produce is easy to procure and prepare at reasonable prices. But the availability and truth in these products is shaky at best. We have no idea what goes into most of our food these days and food companies are becoming as shady as tobacco companies.

The truthfully healthy foods that are reliable are so overpriced due to all the corners they cant cut to reduce the price so they keep their food to a nutritional standard. Organic and free range food tends to be higher in nutritional content, but also higher in price as they can follow the disgusting mass production processes that the cheaper foods tend to be subject to.
